Pirelli’s technological excellence is nurtured by the innovation and competencies gained in sporting competitions, in which it has been active for over 110 years.

Currently, the Company participates inover 350 car and motorcycle sport eventsand since 2011 it has been the exclusive tyre supplier to theFormula 1©World Championshipand will be the sole Global Tyre Partner until 2024. Starting in 2021, Pirelli was chosen by the FIA - International Automobile Federation - as the sole supplier of tyres for theWorld Rally Championship, which enabled the technical development of many specialties and features, later implemented also in road tyres. Pirelli is also involved in the mainGTcompetitions, where some of the most prestigious car brands compete. In two-wheel championships, Pirelli was chosen by the Dorna WorldSBK Organisation, in agreement with the FIM (the International Motorcycle Federation), for the role ofOfficial Tyre Supplierfor all classes of theMOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship, up to and including the 2023 season. Thanks to the historical experience gained in motorcycle racing, Pirelli develops its road tyre range, in accordance with the philosophy: “We sell what we race, we race what we sell”. Such astrong presence in motorsportenables Pirelli to generate avant-garde solutions which are then transferred to tyre ranges for the Consumer market, ensuring themaximum levels of performance and safety.

In the field of cycling, which Pirelli entered in 2018, signing a partnership with theMitchelton-SCOTTteam which, in the same year, with Simon Yates, achieved top ranking in the World Tour. The partnership was confirmed for 2019 (with four stage wins at the Tour de France), and for 2020, for both the men’s and women’s teams. Pirelli has also announced a partnership with the prestigiousTrek-Segafredo World Tour. After a season as technical partner, Pirelli has also become co-title sponsor of theTREK PIRELLImountain bike team, one of the most important and renowned on the internationalMTB Cross Countryscene.
